Milan, 21 June 2024 – Oven, hob and kitchen hood together for the first time ever: here is Lhov , the brand new kitchen solution by Elica winner of the ‘Compasso D'Oro’, the international design award now in its 28th edition. On 20 June, Elica’s Chairman Francesco Casoli and Fabrizio Crisà - Elica's Chief Design Officer - received the prestigious award for the second time in the company's history, in the ADI Design Museum in Milan (the first Compasso D'Oro was granted to Elica for NikolaTesla One). Lhov's special features, innovation and exceptional design once again demonstrated the company's commitment to challenge the ordinary, while aiming for excellence.

“Winning the ‘Compasso d'Oro ‘with a product like Lhov represents my 'second' key achievement in my sector work as a designer,' commented Fabrizio Crisà, Elica's Chief Design Officer. 'The second... because it is my second Compasso d'Oro after the 2018 edition won with NikolaTesla! And this second accolade brings with it an even stronger emotion as I would have never expected such an incredible and extraordinary event ever to have happened again. Lhov was conceived during a particularly inspiring night , when all the pieces of the puzzle matched to create this one-of-a-kind product. At first, it seemed an impossible challenge , as Lhov encompasses a lot of innovation and is capable of revolutionizing the concept of kitchen household appliances. But Elica, possibly with a pinch of madness and audacity, has with enthusiasm attempted to take the plunge, exceeding all possible limits. This award proves that we have made the right choices leading us to give birth to Lhov. ….And winning the Compasso d'Oro with a household appliance makes it all the more extraordinary.” 

Lhov breaks the rules in its product category for the advanced three-in-one- appliance functions ; the highly refined yet essential aesthetics; the technology of controls and cooking solutions. The design is really fascinating: the black glass surfaces, with no knobs and handles, is of outstanding visual impact and capable of enhancing the extreme linearity of the kitchen design. The oven door opens and closes with a simple touch. The digital display, stunning and intuitive like a smartphone, transforms its countless controls into simple and quick gestures.

Lhov’s only standard ‘feature’ is its size - 90x36 cm - for perfect integration with the cabinet, thus optimising space and enhancing any kitchen style. Its revolutionary extraction core gets rid of fumes and odours not only from the hob, but also from the oven. The oven cavity is 30% larger than standard ones , allows to cook two pans side by side, large foods or numerous smaller portions. And that’s not all: traditional cooking methods can be combined with steaming, while the selective grill feature heats up only half of the grill to reduce consumption. Automatic programmes make cooking simple and versatile, and connectivity allows operations to be controlled via voice assistant. Lhov also redefines the standards of induction cooking, thanks to its five combinable cooking zones with automatic features inspired by professional cooking.
