THE HOOD IS ESSENTIAL TO BREATHE CLEAN AIR IN THE KITCHEN.
ITS MAIN FUNCTION IS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF AIR, BY ELIMINATING BURNING FUMES, BAD COOKING ODOURS AND VAPOURS THAT ARE HARMFUL TO BOTH PEOPLE, FURNITURE AND WALLS.
CHOOSE A HOOD THAT FACILITATES YOUR WORK IN THE KITCHEN, AFFORDS FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT AND SIMPLIFIES FOOD PREPARATION.
THE HOOD SHOULD ALSO HAVE THE RIGHT SUCTION POWER. CONSIDER THE SIZE OF YOUR KITCHEN AND YOUR COOKING HABITS: THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO OBTAIN THE RIGHT AIR FLOW AND LOWER ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION.
A SIMPLE CALCULATION ALLOWS UNDERSTANDING THE MOST SUITABLE CAPACITY FOR EVERY KITCHEN. JUT MULTIPLY THE VOLUME OF THE ROOM BY 10 TO OBTAIN THE IDEAL CAPACITY.
CHOOSE YOUR HOOD CAREFULLY AND BRING NEW AIR INTO YOUR KITCHEN.
THE KITCHEN UNIT WITH THE HOB IS LOCATED AGAINST A WALL. THE HOOD WILL BE MOUNTED ON THE WALL ABOVE THE HOB.
THE KITCHEN UNIT WITH THE HOB IS LOCATED IN THE CENTRE OF THE ROOM AWAY FROM A WALL. THE HOOD WILL BE MOUNTED ON THE CEILING ABOVE THE HOB OR, IF IT IS A DOWNDRAFT EXTRACTOR, UNDER THE WORK TOP.
THE KITCHEN UNIT WITH HOB EXTENDS ALONG ADJACENT WALLS AND THE HOB IS LOCATED IN THE CORNER. THE HOOD WILL NEED TO BE INSTALLED BETWEEN THE ADJACENT WALLS.
THE HOB IS LOCATED UNDER A WALL UNIT. THE HOOD WILL BE INSTALLED INSIDE THE WALL UNIT.
TO ENSURE THAT YOUR NEW COOKER HOOD OPERATES AS INTENDED, IT SHOULD BE INSTALLED BY SPECIALIST TECHNICIANS. ASSEMBLY AND MAINTENANCE WILL VARY DEPENDENT ON WHETHER YOU HAVE SELECTED A DUCT-OUT OR A RECIRCULATING HOOD.
MANY MODELS IN THE ELICA RANGE CAN OPERATE IN EITHER MODE. WHEN INSTALLING YOUR HOOD, BEAR IN MIND THESE SIMPLE BASIC RULES:
THE DUCT-OUT HOOD EXHAUSTS AIR TO THE OUTISDE. THIS IS THE MOST USED TYPE, BECAUSE IT ENSURES HIGH PERFORMANCE, HIGH CAPACITY AND LOW NOISE LEVEL.
THE RECIRCULATING HOOD REMOVES BAD ODOURS BY MEANS OF A DEDICATED CHARCOAL FILTER AND REINTRODUCES AIR INTO THE KITCHEN. THIS TYPE IS SUITABLE FOR ROOMS WITH NO EXTRACTOR DUCT, AFFORDS AIR SAVING AND AVOIDS THERMAL LOSSES TO THE OUTSIDE.
TO ENSURE THE LONG LIFE AND CORRECT OPERATION OF YOUR HOOD IN BOTH DUCT-OUT AND RECIRCULATING VERSIONS, THE FIRST STEP IS TO KEEP THE FILTERING SYSTEM IN GOOD CONDITION.
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF FILTERS:
SIMPLE PRECAUTIONS WILL HELP YOU KEEP YOUR HOOD IN PERFECT CONDITION.
(*) always follow the instructions for washing the filter on the manual of the product
Variety of components and additional parts for a better operation of your hood.
Lighting as a distinctive and defining feature to enhance the living environment.
Indicates the diameter of the hole in the wall through which the ducting is routed.
Extraction of air from the rear of the hood, removing the need for an exposed flue or chimney for the duct-out version.
The measurement, expressed in watts, of the total electrical consumption of the hood: motor and lighting.
An intuitive hood control menu for adjusting suction power according to the type of cooking in progress.
Elica adheres to the code of conduct promoted by CECED, the Association of Household Appliance Manufacturers, thus ensuring compliance of the capacity and noise level data published in the catalogue with the European standards.
Fitted in recirculating hoods, odour filters, consisting of active carbon, capture and retain the odours generated by cooking. They must be changed or regenerated regularly to ensure correct operation of the hood.
The suction power or capacity (expressed in m³/h) is the volume of air extracted by a hood in one hour.
In this mode the hood expells cooking fumes and vapours to the outside by means of a duct. This is the most widely used type because it ensures high performance and low noise levels.
A practical digital display that can be read in any lighting conditions.
Ducts for exhausting air to the outside.
Eds3 (an Elica patent) is an extractor system that can reduce noise levels by 35%.
An Elica patent. It is a compact system consisting of motor, filter, lighting and controls, with different aesthetic options.
Selected state-of-the-art materials that combine design with functionality.
A motor installed away from the hood on or at the end of the duct path, usually outside the kitchen, thus increasing capacity while reducing noise.
Supplied with the hood or as an accessory kit. Flues can be telescopic in order to tailor them to specific installation requirements.
An indicator that prompts the user to change or clean a spent or clogged filter, to ensure correct operation of the product.
Type of material and colour that characterizes the aesthetic parts of the hood.
Fitted in both duct-out and recirculating versions, grease filters retain the particles of grease generated by cooking.
A special filter contained inside the air purifiers. It retains dust, pollen and bacteria: to ensure correct operation, the purifier should be changed every 8 to 10 months.
An ergonomic extractor hood whose form and dimensions facilitate movement around the hob.
High performance in terms of maximum extraction efficiency.
Motor power in intensive phase (maximum extraction efficiency) with 5-minute timer.
Innovative odour filters with high filtering efficiency (87%) and average service life of 3 years, which can be reconditioned in a few easy steps. They also reduce noise levels.
All hoods are equipped with lights for the hob and certain models have additional ambient lighting. This heading indicates the type and number of bulbs and their power consumption, expressed in watts.
LED, a lighting system offering high efficiency, quality and energy savings.
A simple, elegant control control switch that both controls the fucntions of the hood and with different coloured indicator lights denotes the functions selected.
Measurement of noise generated by the hood in operation, expressed in decibels (dB). The figures refer to minimum and maximum speed and, where applicable, timed intensive speed.
Suction concentrated around the perimeter of the extraction surface of the hood, which reduces consumption and noise level.
The capacity of the extractor hood to push the extracted air through the ducts. The pressure is measured in pa (pascal. 1 pa = 1 n/m²).
The hood is started for 5 minutes every 30 minutes. In low-noise mode, the function can also be activated when you are not cooking and it serves to ventilate the room.
A multifunctional device that removes dust, pollen and bacteria from the air; its special design makes it a decorative object and a light source too. Not valid in UK yet.
In recirculating mode the hood cleans the air by means of charcoal filters and reintroduces it into the kitchen.
