Simplicity’s winning ways: Tiffany adds the 2013 Red dot Design Award to her collection!

20 Marcha 2013

Tiffany is officially a three-time winner: after the iF Design and Good Design awards, this Elica hood has also come up trumps in the 2013 Red dot Design Awards. This prestigious German prize once again confirms the painstaking care and attention that Elica puts into product design.
The 2013 Red dot Design Awards involved 1,865 companies, designers and architects from 54 different countries, with a total of 4,662 projects being taken into consideration. A jury of 37 renowned professionals had the arduous task of selecting the best products and deciding on the winners, based especially on their success in representing and interpreting the concept of “high-quality design”. And Tiffany was the winner!

Tiffany’s strength is its absolute simplicity of line, its negation of the superfluous, essentiality as its guiding inspiration, subtraction as its key characteristic. A single panel that conceals all the technology, an innovative airflow system that extends along the entire perimeter, LED lighting with colour temperature calibrated for the greatest possible visual comfort. The transparent glass control system seems to float invisibly in the air, its functions activated by the lightest touch – as if caressing the void. “Everything” designed to achieve “nothing”, you might say, a perfectly equilibrated form in which every tiny detail is carefully considered. “The least design possible” is the blueprint followed in Tiffany’s creation and, after such overwhelming international recognition, it seems that simplicity certainly wins out. “Less is more”… and today, Tiffany is “design”.
