THE HOOD ALSO NEEDS THE RIGHT LEVEL OF SUCTION POWER. BEAR IN MIND THE SIZE OF YOUR KITCHEN AND YOUR COOKING HABITS: THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO ACHIEVE THE RIGHT LEVEL OF AIR EXCHANGE AND THE LOWEST CONSUMPTION OF ELECTRICITY.

A SIMPLE CALCULATION CAN PINPOINT THE RIGHT LEVEL OF AIR FLOW FOR ANY KITCHEN. SIMPLY MULTIPLY THE VOLUME OF THE KITCHEN BY TEN TO OBTAIN THE IDEAL AIRFLOW FOR THAT ROOM.

SELECT YOUR HOOD CAREFULLY AND BREATHE SOME FRESH AIR INTO YOUR KITCHEN.

HOW TO INSTALL

CORRECT INSTALLATION BY SPECIALIZED TECHNICIANS IS KEY TO INSTALLING YOUR RANGE HOOD CORRECTLY. YOU SHOULD CHECK WHETHER THE COMPANY OFFERS THIS SERVICE. INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES VARY DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF HOOD: DUCTED AND RECIRCULATING.

MANY ELICA MODELS ARE DESIGNED TO OPERATE IN BOTH VERSIONS. BEFORE INSTALLING YOUR HOOD, KEEP THESE BASIC RULES IN MIND:

  • FOLLOW ALL THE STEPS DESCRIBED IN THE PRODUCT INSTRUCTION BOOKLET;
  • CONNECT A DUCTED HOOD TO THE OUTDOORS WITH DEDICATED DUCTING THAT IS 120-150 MILLIMETERS IN DIAMETER: SHORTER LENGTHS AND A LACK OF CURVES GUARANTEE OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE;
  • OBSERVE THE MINIMUM DISTANCE FROM THE COOKING SURFACE AS SHOWN IN THE MANUAL TO AVOID DAMAGING THE FUNCTIONAL PARTS OF THE HOOD AND TO PROTECT THE PEOPLE WHO USE IT;
  • CHECK THAT THE POWER OUTLET IS LOCATED NEAR THE PRODUCT;
  • IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE, CONTACT YOUR PREFERRED SPECIALIZED TECHNICIAN.

HOW TO CARE FOR IT

TO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR EXTRACTOR HOOD IS LONG-LASTING AND OPERATES CORRECTLY, THE FIRST STEP IS TO KEEP ITS FILTERING SYSTEM IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF FILTER:

  • THE GREASE FILTER PROTECTS YOUR HOOD BY CAPTURING GREASE PARTICLES. ALUMINUM OR STAINLESS STEEL GREASE FILTERS REQUIRE PERIODIC WASHING, EITHER BY HAND WITH NEUTRAL SOAP, OR IN THE DISHWASHER AT LOW TEMPERATURES*. PAPER GREASE FILTERS SHOULD BE REPLACED MONTHLY, DEPENDING ON USE.
  • ACTIVATED CHARCOAL ODOR FILTERS INSTALLED ON RECIRCULATING HOODS CAPTURE AND CONTAIN ODOR PARTICLES IN THE AIR. REMEMBER TO REPLACE THEM EVERY 3-4 MONTHS. LONG LIFE ODOR FILTERS LAST LONGER: THEY SHOULD BE REPLACED EVERY TWO YEARS.

A FEW HANDY TIPS WILL HELP YOU KEEP YOUR HOOD HEALTHY AND EFFICIENT.

(*) always check the product's instruction booklet to see how to wash your filter.
